Bella: QPR Training
Suicide prevention starts with awareness and action.
Meet Bella! For her Peer Project Grant, Bella chose to host and participate in a QPR Training — a course that stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. It teaches people how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond with care, support, and confidence.
With friends and community members by her side, Bella completed the training and earned her QPR certification — gaining life-saving tools along the way.
The experience included peer training for everyone—including Narcan training—plus new T-shirts, great food, MFA goodie bags, and powerful, meaningful discussions! Special thanks to Melissa from TPAUD, Trumbull’s Prevention Partnership, for leading the course.
“I think suicide prevention is very important, and I feel that by participating in this training, we’ll be better prepared to help others in need,” Bella shared.
She also added, “I would like to thank My Friend Abby for constantly bringing mental health awareness to my town and the surrounding communities.”
Big thanks to Bella for showing how peer-led efforts can make a real impact.
